Day Tour to Saumur in the Step ok Kings of France,

Logistics: 8.45 am: meeting point at Place de l’Academie, in front of the Tourist Board. 5.00 pm: end of tour at the same place.

Take place in a confortable air conditioning panoramic coach for an exceptional day tour to Saumur (50 kms). Your guide will reveal the History of picturesque villages, abbeyes and castles along the grandiose landscapes of the last wild European river, listed as a UNESCO heritage site. LOIRE UNESCO.

10:00 am: visit the famous FRENCH NATIONAL RIDING SCHOOL LE CADRE NOIR in Saumur

The guided tour will allow you to discover the history of Cadre Noir and the different facilities of the school: arenas, stables, tack room...

Noon: lunch followed by a guided visit of FONTEVRAUD ROYAL ABBEY.
 

Founded in 1101, Fontevraud was one of the largest monastic complexes in Europe. Eleanor d'Aquitaine and the Plantagenêts are buried there. Nine centuries of history and architecture are to be seen here, including the majestic domes of the abbey church and the amazing voluminous spaces of its famous kitchens. Nowadays, the abbey houses an arts centre (concerts, master classes, exhibitions, conferences,...)
